Greetings friends.
I went for a motorbike ride to the southern tip of Koh Phangan to the town of Haad Rin – the little town and beach synonymous with Full Moon Parties. Half Moon Parties, a Black Moon Party and many extrapolated flavors of regular drinking-fests have put Koh Phangan on the backpacker-tourist map. Personally, I’m grateful those groups are NOT here. In fact, I’m certain its THE reason I find Koh Phangan such an awesome place. BUT, I realize that because this island and specifically this part of it, being so highly reliant on foreign tourism. this level of “only child quiet” is not sustainable. SO, for now (September 2020) I am taking full advantage of these times and doing my little part to inject at least a little revenue into the economy, albeit small.
So on this early afternoon, I left beautiful quiet of where I have been staying for about a week: WANG SAI BEACH RESORT ( https://dude.ly/wangsai ) on Mae Haad beach, right by Ko Ma in Koh Phangan, Thailand – to date, still my FAVORITE Island in the world!
