As day #1 of the Gateway ’17 conference comes to a close I wanted to reiterate the huge opportunity the Chinese Middle-Class presents for the US regaining the stage as THE manufacturer of some of the world’s best products. I dare say that in the next 3-5 years “Made In America” is going to be such a well respected sticker on products that not only will the Chinese Middle-Class be demanding out goods but the rest of Asia and South East Asia will also be wanting to consume US goods!!! Its a very exciting time to be in the Idea Business was said at the opening keynote – Inspiring and Exciting.

For a “first” conference Gateway ’17 in Detroit is a very mature performance. They have organized a great team of folks to lead and manage their show. I am lucky enough to attend the “first” Alibaba conference in the US. I put that in quotes as there have certainly been public meetings in the US where global rockstars collaborate or All that is Baba BUT *this* is one of those times in Global IT History.. for me… Like the first VMWorld , the first AWS re:Invent, my first meeting , etc. Game changing events.

I truly believe that Alibaba’s success will follow the trajectory of awesome that AMZN has experienced over the last 8 years… Back when AMZN was less than $100/share. as of this writing BABA is about $138/share… and every dollar I can spare, I buy BABA!

I noticed one of the videos that I took from my walking about San Jose del Cabo was uploaded out of order. Here, I discover a cool little hut or gazebo or mini “fort” actually. It had a great view of of the “Live the Dream” beach that I discovered and became the reason I walked about 20 Km in flip flops in 90 degree humidity. AND LOVED every single minute of it!
