I thought that the best way to assist as many of you as possible with specific questions or scenarios is to schedule some one on one time BUT then my schedule filled up for about 2-3 weeks out. So, that didn’t work out too well.
Additionally, I had a few people book time and then not show up.
So, ultimately, that time was taken away from someone else and I also committed to being there. I realized that paradigm did not work well.
I have had recommendations from friends that if you charge the person, say $50, then they have “skin in the game” and they will Very Likely show up.

Gracie and I finish off a great day over at Bang Krachao (sometimes written/pronounced as Bang Kachao). It’s one the MANY very inexpensive things to do in Bangkok. Arguably this is not the “typical tourist outing” but if you live here its a great way to be a Tourist in your own City!
It was a great day of exploring that Gracie and I were able to do. AND, something that You CAN do today. While there is indeed still a State of Emergency, as of this video, the curfew has shortened by 1 hour bringing it to an 11pm to 4am closure. But, more importantly, businesses are starting to re-open and TRAVEL is slowing becoming available. As of yesterday, Bangkok Airways is now flying from Bangkok to Koh Samui.
But, I discovered, the Thai Goverment doesn’t consider Going to The Beach “essential travel”. Plus about 24 hours after booking my hotel in Agoda, I got a notification from the hotel that they are NOT open until JULY, 2020… Big Bummer!!!
But, I was still very motivated to get back to some of the video that Gracie and I made only about 3 weeks before complete State of Emergency and before “lockdown” was a very common term!

—– In one of my random Google Map-ings using “Satellite View” I took a look at the local area and the Chao Praya river. It winds in, through and around Bangkok. In the “center” of the view I discovered there is Significant “green” (e.g. trees!) in this one spot that I later learned is referred to as The Green Lung of Bangkok – rightfully so. It likely helps filter a lot of the air that is of pretty bad quality during certain times of the year, here in The Big Mango.
So, I took a look and realized it was about a 15 minute walk to a 5 minute sung tao ride to a 10 minute ferry ride and BLAM!! and we are on an Island and you are Hard Pressed to believe you are still in the mighty busy noisy city of Bangkok. Bang Krachao is a AWESOME place. I hope you enjoy to ride around there and the floating market we explore.!!

As part of our bike ride around this totally cool “Island” in the middle of Bangkok, we went to the “floating market” that happens every weekend. While the Chatuchak Weekend Market may technically uphold its title as “the worlds largest outdoor weekend market that is near a park in a massive South East Asian city”, for my money and to fuel my enjoyment the Bang Krachao weekend market wins hands down. That said, they offer different things. Chatuchak is more clothing-related. and, I would submit one the reasons they can still be called “largest market” is the fact that you will see 2,3…7 of the same store, just 200 meters from the last one. Same products, Same branding, Same prices… well, as we say in Thailand: Same Same. The variety and quality of food and smiles from the vendors far exceed that of that “inland” market and when you are on Bang Krachao, we highly encourage you to check out the market.

While I am sure I could have removed a bunch of footage from this video, remember, I do these videos For My Mum! As of May 15th, Bangkok is starting to open up. So, I thought it was about time I uploaded some of the adventures Gracie and I were taking just prior to her needing to depart Thailand and get to The Philippines so that she would be able to fly through Manila to her hometown. One day later and she would have been stranded in Manila. Gross!

and (Part 2): https://youtu.be/7BgkS7uVq2o of the last few days of me walking around Bangkok a bit, you probably noticed that I like (well… LOVE) Lumpini Park. I have actually enjoyed Lumpini for years BUT this has also been the first week in a long time that you could get into Lumpini. This week, the rules of quarantine have relaxed to include the ability to go to public parks and exercise and several markets have opened.
Malls are still not open but after another 6 days we will enter Phase 2 of the “opening” of Thailand. This will also mean that Phase 1 has been in place for 2 weeks AND there are Very Few new cases. Thailand is doing an Excellent job are containing this and protecting the people here! Its an honor have the opportunity to stay here!
I cannot WAIT to get to the beach!!!! THAT is going to be a VERY WELCOMED excursion.
For now, I’ll simply take the opportunities that avail themselves.
So, Lumpini it is!!! And for some reason during this video I started chatting about responsibility and sharing some of my leadership point of view. Thanks for joining me.

Hope you enjoyed the initial outing a few days ago. It was great just to get out and explore – even to places I’ve already been to before. I tried to go to Benjakitti Park for a walk but alas, it was closed. The good news is that they are doing a TON of repairs – a great use of this time, if you ask me.
But, even with this park closed there are others open.
