Shortly after finishing up shooting a walking video inside Lumpini park the other day: ( https://youtu.be/2WZZ8MJoBoU ) I was “minding my own business” and 4 high school or early college students approached me to ask me some questions about a “school project”, as they referred to it. A park security guard rode up in his bicycle and said something to the girls in Thai and they stopped answering my questions. He would not answer my questions as to why he was doing what he was doing and/or if either of us was doing anything wrong. This really bummed me out as I was hoping to learn more about the University system(s) here in Thailand. Oh well. Hopefully next time I’ll get to participate in something education related. I wanted to update y’all on some more “permanent” plans I have for 2020. I’ve signed a 1 year lease on a condo in Bangkok. This will certainly act as a Home but also a Home Base in SE Asia.
While my goal was initially to just move here and go to the beach and stare at my feet in the sand of Cha-Am, Pranburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Koh Lanta, Coconut Island, Phuket, Kamala, Koh Samui and explore a whole bunch of Krabi I still have the “Entrepreneurial Addiction” I guess… So, it will likely not surprise you that my new “home” is literally a 5 minute walk to THE largest co-working space in ALL of South East Asia: True Digital Park.
The other nice thing is the, presently, this part of the BTS and Bangkok are not as “popular” as say Ekkamai, Asok, etc.. SO even during the busy commute times on the BTS, I can still get ON the BTS with my luggage. Doing so at at stops like Phrom Phong, Nana, Phra Khanong and even On Nut now are not easy now with the increasing popularity of these locations. Good for Bangkok – bad for me and Gracie, if/when we will be wanting to grab a couple bags, hop on the BTS, MRT and or Airport Rail Link and start exploring more of Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and ASEAN.
So. I’m stoked. This is really GREAT!
Thanks for following the journey.

You may recognize Gracie from the Thumbnail I liked this one as, this is the part of the video where she is eating “fruit” from a tree.
On this particular day on our “vacation” to Prachuap Khiri Khan, we ended up driving the motorbike around another of the horseshoe-shaped beaches to the end. We were in full Discovery & Exploration mode. A state which I *love* and can spend HOURS doing; walking, sitting, taking video, taking pictures, doing nothing, talking, closing my eyes, smelling nature’s air, or just listening to the waves lap up on the beach. The “Waves on the Beach” thing, I can sit and listen to for hours. Love It!
Anyway, at the “end of the road” on this particular mini-“road trip” of our this one afternoon, we end up at the Khao Ta Mong Lai Forest Park a.k.a Urban Forest in PrachuapKhiriKhan. Like all the other National Park of Thailand that I/we have experienced, this one was completely free, Very Well taken care of, quiet, and empty. LOVED IT.
So, we took about 30 minutes to stroll out to what was referred to as the “view point” and had a very enjoyable early afternoon pause to appreciate one of the MANY little pieces of Awesome that Thailand’s natural beauty has to offer.
Thanks for watching.
Hope you enjoy!

Greetings,
Here’s the link to my story, “Surrender, Succeed, Win!” in the book, “Defining Moments of Courage”: https://dude.ly/definingcourage

As of 21 Jan 2020, I have been in the Land of Smiles for 2 months so, I wanted to check in and just give a quick update on how VERY HAPPY I am with my decision to move to Thailand — To Move MY LIFE to Thailand.
One could argue this is a Pretty Bold Move, from the perspective of the “average American”.
While I have never really considered myself, nor most of my peer, friends and colleagues to be “average Americans”, still, the discussion of,
“So, I’m going to sell everything, quit my job and move to Thailand…” “….you wanna come with?”
HAHA!
Right!
That is not a common, “Over Coffee” discussion that yields anything more than laughter.
Well, 2 months in I’m THRILLED with my decision and am looking forward to what the future has in store!
Thanks for watching and for all those who comment – I *really* appreciate the time you take to do so.
Again, here’s the link to my story in the book, Defining Moments of Courage:

In the previous video “Ao Manao Beach – Prachuap Khiri Khan (part 1)”
{ https://youtu.be/qiKMG_N1LUs } Gracie and I walked down to the end of Ao Manao beach here in Prachuap Khiri Khan. As we started walking back… well, as I started walking back and Gracie sat in the shade of a nearby tree, protecting herself from the death-rays of the mighty red-yellow ball in the sky.. yeh know, because she’s Asian 😉
I pause, however briefly, and realized the THIS was one of those “views” that I had had in my mind. One of those “pictures” or maybe even “fantasies” of what my life would be like or what a day might be like when I “moved to Thailand”
I was reviewing my YouTube channel the other day and in one of the descriptions I stated that “my goal is to move to Thailand by ~April 2018”. I landed at Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok International Airport on 21 November, 2019. So, I am *really* happy with that. about 18 months past my original goal is VERY acceptable for me.
In fact, I’m still “pinching myself” MANY times per week.
I am THE Luckiest Guy In The World!
I genuinely hope that you feel the same way about your life!

I wanted up make sure I upload this video today, Monday, January 20th (in the US) as this has historically been the Last day I would have/could have spent on vacation and away from the office during the very long “Christmas Break” or “Holiday Break” or “semester break” of “over New Years” or whatever label you prefer.
Suffice it to say,, normally, during the time period some where between mid December and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday I would be in SE Asia since my first trip to this part of the world, back in 2013.
And on this particular Martin Luther King day, in 2020, I am gratefully, NOT traveling back to San Diego nor going back to sit in my cold, grey office at the University of San Diego.
Don’t get me wrong, San Diego was and this is (for many people) a *fantastic* place. There is a high percentage of people in the US that believe refer to San Diego as “America’s Finest City” and ask many people in the ‘states and they will usually revert to some exclamation of “San Diego has perfect whether”. And for many people, including me, for a LOT of years, it did. BUT once I found Thailand, and then other countries in South East Asia and Gracie, well, a lot of the “awesome” that was once San Diego just wasn’t there for me any longer.

Gracie and I awoke to a Gorgeous Sunrise from the balcony at our hotel: Hadthong right on the beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Breakfast was included with our room so, after this “free” breakfast, we walked across the road behind the hotel and for 200 Baht (~ $6.60) plus about $2 in fuel, we rented a motorbike. The bike included 2 helmets. 😉
We took a little ride just south of our hotel which takes us through the Wing 5 Airbase.
Here is some info on the airbase:

Wing 5, the Prachuap Airbase

We had to “sign in” at the entry gate by just writing my passport number and name on a paper attached to a clip board. This is not hugely enforced and its actually a nice way to greet the guards that stand at the entrance.
Once at Ao Manao beach we realized, in the evening, the once flat-sand turns into a beach filled with little balls of sand – generated by little crabs burrowing into the sand only a few centimeters below the surface.
Ao Manao is one of THE Quietest and most peaceful Thai beaches I have ever been to. I LOVED It. It is a Great “walking” beach as the slope is next to nothing so, no weird slant to your heips and the hard pack sand is very clean and there are Plenty of places to duck in between the trees to find your own slice of privacy.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is definitely in my TOP 10 places of Thailand FOR SURE!
I hope if you get to Thailand, you make it a point to head South of Hua Hin as its a real treat!!!
Thanks for watching.

After letting my camera, me, and Gracie cool down a bit and finishing up the last few steps, WE MADE IT to the Top of the 396 steps of Khao Chong Krachok Hill. This basically gets you to Wat Thammikaram Worawihan a.k.a. “Monkey Temple”.
Now, once you DO get to the top, there are still opportunities for climbing up even more steps and taking some AMAZING photos. The views from here are truly spectacular.
You will indeed read Many recommendations about how you should probably NOT climb the stairs in the afternoon/late afternoon (i.e. the hottest part of the day). Ok, that Is a pretty good suggestion. But, I will put this suggestion out there – climb when the sky is the clearest. Just take your time, take breaks, drink water/stay hydrated and ENJOY yourself. This is by far one of the greatest views in Prachuap Khiri Khan so while we felt it in our legs once we got to the top, after resting for about 10 minutes, you soon forget how long it took and, at least *I* was Incredibly Grateful we did it.
I know we will go back to PKK and I *know* we will climb this again.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our journey.
Stay tuned for some more from the beaches of Prachuap Khiri Khan – one of my Favorite places in Thailand!!
Live the Dream.
