I’m trying out a new Live Streaming solution: Lightstream.

Home

It was actually recommended to me from the guys at Restream ( https://www.restream.io )
I am *REEEEEALLY* impressed! All of this was done in my Chrome browser, on my Dell 13″ Chromebook 3380. This was a Free Chromebook given to me from some buddies at Dell a few years ago when I kept saying, “I *cannot* use a Chromebook as there are not apps!!!!” This was one of first few Chromebooks that allowed the running of Play Store Apps vs. just the limited number of apps in the Chrome Store.
As you probably know, this really opened up what a Chromebook can do. STILL for the most part, I try to do everything in Chrome (the browser) with as close to Everything as possible, running in The Cloud.
Its all part of Living the Dream! 😉
In this impromptu Live Stream I mention another YouTuber: Marty Johnson and his new YouTube channel: “SurvivingTN”: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_lA5YtflyLQeXHn2XMIDbw/videos

He’s a great guy and listening to him go thru what he has (and still is) going thru really makes you grateful for all the little moments of simple comfort we *get* to have throughout our lives.

Plus we chat a bit about “the virus” and some of the behaviors of people here in The Kingdom – no real over-reactions, I’m happy to report…
Although, there was some discussion around the US “closing its borders” to people coming in from Asia but nothing was confirmed nor sited.

So, I hope you enjoy this little discussion with a few of your fellow subscribers and hope to come back with another one very soon.

Greetings folks. On this afternoon, as I searched Google Maps for the closest BTS or MRT station to get my back home to my condo near True Digital Park off lower Sukhumvit, I see this label on the map for “Giant Swing”.
WELL, who wouldn’t want to go check out a Giant Swing.
So, off we go! Along the way, I get to walk through a little park, Rommaninat Park
āļŠāļ§āļ™āļĢāļĄāļ“āļĩāļ™āļēāļ– More data on the Giant Swing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Swing

It is just across from a beautiful temple, Wat Suthat Thepwararam
āļ§āļąāļ”āļŠāļļāļ—āļąāļĻāļ™āđ€āļ—āļžāļ§āļĢāļēāļĢāļēāļĄāļĢāļēāļŠāļ§āļĢāļĄāļŦāļēāļ§āļīāļŦāļēāļĢ, more info on this specific Wat here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wat_Suthat
to summarize: The Giant Swing is a religious structure in Sao Chingcha Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand.

I’ve been living in Bangkok for about 2 months, and in Thailand for about 90 days as of this video and I have a feeling I will still be saying this 90 months from now, “Bangkok has an UNlimited amount of things to do!”
As, mentioned in previous posts, I listen to “The Bangkok Podcast”. https://www.bangkokpodcast.com/
I started listening to it before I moved here permanently. Since I had just found it about 2 months before I knew I was definitely making the move, and the podcast had been going on for several years I have *plenty* of episodes to catch up on (a.k.a. binge) as well as enjoy during the 13 hour flight over the Pacific Ocean on my final One-Way journey back in November.

Bangkok or Krung Thep or the City of Angels or its FULL Name: Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit indeed has something for everyone… including plenty of way to get out and get to a beach!
:–)
Thanks for watching and following the journey.

Continuing on from a previous video { https://youtu.be/2z3MB03oV0M } from when I arrived at The Old Siam Shopping Plaza, I thought I’d just take a quick few minutes and show you my loot!
It was surprisingly easy to find the audio connectors I was looking for as well as a soldering iron and some decent solder. All for a very low price. Thank You AMORN Electronics!

As I was taking a few minutes to get all my stuff together, I then looked on my phone at Google Maps to try and find the easiest way home. Luckily, there is an MRT stop near by. The beauty of the public transit in Bangkok is that once I get to either the MTS or the BTS I can pretty much get to where I need to go Very Easily.
As I was looking at the map, planning , my walk, I see “Giant Swing” on the map. “Well! Cleeeeeearly THAT is something I must check out!” my brain says to me.
So, stay tuned for the next video (don’t worry I’ll upload it shortly after this one) where I walk over to said Giant Swing.

Bangkok has a TON of things to do!!! and while I have mentioned them before in a few posts as well as VLOGs the guys who do “The Bangkok Podcast”, who have lived here for almost 20 years, each, constantly comment about how there are STILL new things they find to do.
This is a gross understatement.
Bangkok, with all its imperfections, still remains one of my TOP favorite cities in the world… and there is not even a Beach Here!!!! Crazy, that I would ever have an degree of affinity to a Big City with concrete and traffic everywhere and no beach but Bangkok, for some reason Really fits me well!

Thanks for watching.

I was out buying a little mixer to *ideally* help the audio sound better for the YouTube Live Streams and found the “local” Behringer dealer.
A little audio shop called Boosey and Hawkes: http://www.booseythai.com
A word of caution – the prices they have listed on their website are not accurate 🙁
I ended up buying the Behringer Xenyx 302B: https://amzn.to/2vnrc5r
and while it doesn’t have a built-in compressor in the MIC channel is does a great job of keeping a low-cost condenser MIC from clipping and the A-D conversion (i.e. analog audio to USB out) was Exactly what I was looking for. So for 2500 THB (~$79 at the current (20 Feb. 2020 exchange rate) I’m quite pleased as this is only about $15 more than what it would have cost me on Amazon.com back home (keeping in mind I have Amazon Prime so, free shipping) BUT I got instant gratification AND got to explore some of Bangkok which, honestly, is TOTALLY worth $15!!!
In fact, as part of the this exploration, I learned about this cool bridge I highlight in this video as well as an “Alley Market” as I call them, I also made a new friend on the bus, and got to check out a new mall, a new electronics store and finally, found he Giant Teak Swing frame in the middle of the street – videos forthcoming 🙂

As always, I really am grateful and thankful for your comments and appreciate you taking the time to watch.

I headed down to Pattaya from Bangkok for a long weekend in February to meet with some friends and just catch up.
To get there I too the Pattaya to Bangkok bus from the “Main” Bus Terminal in Bangkok right on Sukhumvit Road and Ekkamai (BTS).
In about 2 to 2.5 hours, it gets you to the bus station on Pattaya North Road. Just across the street from the Makro in Pattaya.
From there its and easy songthaew (Thai: āļŠāļāļ‡āđāļ–āļ§, meaning literally. “two rows”, RTGS: songthaeo, pronounced [sɔĖŒËÅ‹. tʰɛĖŒw] or as most of us farang call them in Pattaya a “Baht Bus”, ride down to the Dolphin round-about. From there, you hop on the next Baht Bus route which runs from north to south along Beach Road in Pattaya (another 10 baht) BUT, today, and since my life is FAR from on a schedule and I have an enormous amount of free time, I decided to just walk. Even with a backpack and one piece of roller luggage at about 11am, on a sunny day in south east Asia, the heat was Very tolerable for me.
But, as most of you know, I “retired” to Thailand because I adore the weather! …as well as a number of other items that I have been referencing along the way.

See the Playlist where I’m keeping track of “Why Thailand:

** This was originally the live stream that I did, from my phone, using the StreamLabs Open Broadcast Studio or SLOBS app. Like several of my live broadcasts lately it was more of a test than anything else. I discovered that while this worked out “ok” and the quality was actually pretty decent as Live Streams go, for some reason about 6 minutes in, the first stream stopped and started a new live stream. In doing so, it essentially generates a new stream and thus a new video (file). I decided to combine the 2 videos and edit them down and add a few video links that I reference as it relates to Terminal 21, and other Thai vloggers. Like this one of Kev In Thailand and his VLOG on the Grand Opening of Terminal 21:

and a few others on Terminal 21 mall:

One of the topics that I discuss on my channel from time to time (with Gratitude usually being the most common) is Contrast.
The contrast between MY experience lately in Thailand vs some of the reports and opinions of other foreigners, both on and off YouTube. From those who are YouTubers and those who are not. From those who write blog posts and those who do not. From those who have podcasts vs. those who do not….
I am going to share MY experience as its relates to the discussion around “Thailand Does Not Want Foreigners Here”. Well, that may very well have been and continue to be YOUR experience BUT, that has NOT been MY experience.
Comment on what your experience has been. BUT making statements with no foundational backing of actual personal experience is why there is the term “hearsay” in the legal profession. And, evidence, produced that can be labeled as “hearsay” has infinitely LESS integrity than that which is REAL. Feel free to share you experiences. Be them good or bad. Quoting snippets from a book that you didn’t even completely read or taking a statement out of context, simply to prove your clear confirmation bias is NOT actual experience and thus not really cause for debate.
I invite you to share some of your Experiences as I really do want to have an educated discussion around this topic.
Finally, if all you are going to do is complain about how bad it is here in Thailand then either Suck it Up or leave. With a constant attitude of negativity I can see why you might get the impression that the entire country of Thailand does not want your here. You are (consciously or not, intentionally or not) pushing people away with your ugly behavior.
Go to the next country, behave the same way, then, share YOUR experiences there and I would bet that you feel persecuted and think its everyone around you that is wrong and they are all trying to kick you out. Well, they probably are.. and for good reason.
You’re unwanted… and its all your fault.

I have empathy for you but no sympathy. Bottom line, if {insert current country name here} doesn’t want you in it, its probably for good reason and perhaps your SHOULD leave… I know your negativity is distracting ME from Living the Dream. and THAT is what I am here (no matter Where HERE is) to do.
Live the Dream. If you’re not, YOU Are Doing it Wrong… not me… not “them”.
Best of Luck.
